Minister of Transport and Governor Inspect Kuhlan Road in Hajjah

Hajjah: The Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim, alongside the Governor of Hajjah, Hilal Al-Sufi, conducted an inspection of the asphalt road linking Khlan Afar, Al-Mughrabah, and Al-Jumaimah districts. The visit aimed to assess the current state of the road and its maintenance requirements.

According to Yemen News Agency, Qahim and Al-Sufi were accompanied by Deputy Minister for Roads, Engineer Nabil Al-Haifi, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Hadrami. The delegation evaluated the road's need for maintenance, repair works, and rehabilitation of rainwater drainage channels and culverts.

During the inspection, the Minister of Transport and Public Works instructed the General Authority for Roads and Bridges and the Road Maintenance Fund to implement cleaning operations on the road surface. This includes the removal of debris and falling rocks, as well as clearing side drains and the entrances and exits of culverts.

Qahim also ordered the repair of asphalt potholes post-rainy season to maintain road readiness and ensure user safety, emphasizing that this assessment is part of the Ministry's broader plan for road evaluations across the governorate.

Governor Al-Sufi highlighted the local council's commitment to regulating heavy trucks, specifically advocating for the transition from large single-axle trucks to dual-axle trucks to aid in road preservation. He expressed gratitude towards the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, the Roads Authority, and the Road Maintenance Fund for their focus on road projects that aim to improve the transportation conditions for the residents of Hajjah Governorate.
