Handover of Habban Water Project in An Nadirah to Local Community

Sana'a: The branch of the General Authority for Rural Water Projects in the governorate received the Habban water project in An Nadirah district from the implementing party and handed it over to the local community committee in the area for operation.

According to Yemen News Agency, the project, costing $57,000 and funded by UNICEF, includes a 100-cubic-meter reinforced concrete elevated tank, a transmission pipeline, and an internal distribution network for the benefiting villages.

During the handover ceremony, the Director of the Authority's branch in the governorate, Engineer Sadiq Qammaz, affirmed that the Habban water project in An Nadirah district represents an important step in improving the level of basic services in rural areas. He stated that it falls within the Authority's efforts to provide safe and sustainable water sources, contributing to alleviating citizens' suffering due to water scarcity and difficulties in accessing it.

He explained that the implementation of this project comes in response to the urgent need of the local population for a stable and secure water source, amidst the difficult conditions faced by rural areas. He acknowledged the role of UNICEF, the implementing party, the local authority, and the community committee in completing the project.
