Sana'a: A meeting chaired by Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shaiban on Wednesday discussed the pillars of the national vision to localize and develop the pharmaceutical industry through public-private partnership and integration.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by officials from the pharmaceutical sector, medical supplies companies, and emerging drug manufacturers. The focus was on strategies to support local industrial investment, overcome challenges, and promote successful new projects.
Emphasis was placed on contract manufacturing and alliances with global companies to transfer technology and expertise. The minister highlighted that localization aims to reduce import costs, achieve self-sufficiency, enhance national production capacity, and ensure high-quality local pharmaceuticals.
Attendees also pledged support for free medical camps in various governorates during the Prophet's birthday celebrations, underlining the role of national and social responsibility in fostering a sustainable and competitive local pharmaceutical industry.
