Hodeida: Hodeida governor Abdullah Atifi inspected on Thursday the ongoing construction and development work at Ras Issa Port, as well as the mechanism for organizing transportation services and the movement of trucks transporting goods and petroleum products. This is part of efforts aimed at developing the infrastructure and improving logistical services at the port.
According to Yemen News Agency, the governor reviewed the site for developing, organizing, and designating parking areas for trucks transporting goods and fuel, and the work being carried out to regulate truck traffic. This aims to enhance traffic flow, reduce congestion, and create a more efficient operational environment to serve commercial activity.
He listened to a briefing from specialists on the performance level, the mechanism for receiving ships and unloading goods and petroleum products, and the procedures taken to facilitate handling operations and enhance the efficiency of logistical services. Governor Atifi also received a briefing from the port authority on the progress of construction and development work, including completion rates and the various projects aimed at enhancing the port's facilities and improving services for the transport and trade sectors.
Following this, the governor discussed with the leadership of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority branch, the port administration, and other relevant parties the needs related to equipping truck parking areas and providing supporting services. They also discussed practical mechanisms to alleviate congestion, thereby regulating traffic flow, accommodating the number of trucks, and improving the smooth flow of traffic entering and exiting the port.
He emphasized the importance of completing the work according to the established timelines and strengthening coordination among all relevant entities to meet the demands of maritime and commercial activity and enhance operational efficiency and logistical services at Ras Isa Port.
