The events aimed to denounce the acts of genocide, the policy of starvation, and the systematic blockade imposed by the Zionist forces on Gaza, amidst international silence and the complicity of regimes supportive of the occupation.
According to Yemen News Agency, the rallies were held across various health facilities and hospitals in the governorate, attracting widespread participation from medical and health personnel. Participants chanted slogans condemning the peak atrocities committed by the occupation, embodying the popular anger and deep solidarity with the victims of the aggression, including children, women, and the wounded.
The participants stressed that the situation in Gaza constitutes a crime against humanity, necessitating urgent intervention from the international community and human rights organizations. They called for an immediate end to the aggression, lifting of the blockade, and allowing the entry of medical and relief aid to save lives and prevent a worsening humanitarian crisis. They highlighted the systematic targeting of hospitals and denial of medical supplies as war crimes that aim to maximize casualties, in violation of international laws protecting health facilities and workers.
A statement from the vigils criticized the world's silence as complicity with the Zionist entity, which legitimizes the killing of children and women and committing massacres against civilians. This silence provides political and media cover for the continuation of the extermination campaign, in violation of international values, principles, and laws.
The statement urged the United Nations and international organizations to fulfill their legal and humanitarian responsibilities by holding occupation leaders accountable, ending double standards, and taking immediate action to halt the aggression and lift the siege. It called for ensuring unrestricted access to humanitarian and medical aid to the people of Gaza, and protecting civilians and health facilities from systematic targeting. The statement affirmed that medical personnel will continue to witness and expose the crimes against the Palestinian people, fulfilling their duty to stand with the oppressed and defend their rights to life, treatment, and freedom, until justice is achieved and the Palestinian people attain their legitimate rights.
