Hodeidah: Mohammed Halisi, Hodeidah Deputy Governor for Services Affairs, reviewed the preliminary plan for the Agricultural Rehabilitation and Empowerment Project slated for implementation in Ad-Durayhimi District, located south of Hodeidah city. The project encompasses an extensive area of 153,059,117 square meters.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Governor Halisi, in a meeting with Project Director Mohsen Abu Ghidnah, underscored the necessity of adhering to precise technical specifications in the preparation of the project's executive study. This adherence is crucial to ensure the provision of essential services, particularly roads, in alignment with the project's requirements and upon its official approval.
The meeting also delved into the progress of preparatory procedures and the remaining arrangements necessary to finalize the technical and administrative aspects of the project within its organizational framework. Furthermore, the meeting examined the agricultural opportunities available within the project's scope and explored mechanisms for implementing agricultural empowerment to support local farmers and foster sustainable agricultural development.
Project Director Abu Ghidnah indicated that the plan seeks to utilize state-owned lands for agricultural reclamation and empower low-income families by granting them arable lands, transforming these into productive farmland. This initiative aligns with the directives of Revolution Leader Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, who prioritizes the agricultural sector to achieve self-sufficiency. He further mentioned that the Ad-Durayhimi project is envisioned as a pilot model, with plans for expansion and replication in other districts of Hodeidah in subsequent phases.
