Sana'a: Hodeidah Governor Abdullah Atifi on Saturday welcomed three Yemeni hikers who arrived in the province after completing a long-distance journey on foot across several governorates. The hikers - Zakaria Ahmed Breij, Abdullah Abdullah Jabali, and Mushtaq Ali Jamali - traveled through Ibb, Dhamar, Sana'a, Amran, Al Mahwit, and Hajjah before reaching Hodeidah.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the meeting, the governor was briefed on their route, the challenges they faced, and their goal of promoting unity, friendship, and social connection among Yemenis. Atifi praised their determination and courage, describing the journey as an inspiring example of the resilience and ambition of Yemeni youth. He said such initiatives highlight positive community values, encourage self-reliance, and demonstrate young people's ability to turn ideas into meaningful achievements.
The hikers expressed appreciation for the warm welcome they received in Hodeidah and commended the local authorities for supporting youth initiatives and community activities.
