Sana'a: The Culture and Tourism Sector in Hodeidah Governorate launched on Thursday an awareness campaign on the requirements, standards governing tourism facilities and services, as well as public safety, security, health, and environmental regulations, under the slogan 'Hodeidah, a Tourism Destination.'
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Head of the sector for Tourism Affairs and Chairman of the Inspection Committees, Walid Al-Sharif, said the week-long campaign is part of the sector's 1448 AH plan to develop tourism, promote compliance with approved standards, and improve safety, cleanliness, and service quality.
The campaign targets hotels, restaurants, caf©s, resorts, parks, and other tourism-related facilities across the governorate. It includes field visits, awareness meetings with owners and staff, and the distribution of guidelines on required standards.
Al-Sharif stated that the campaign also features local radio programs and specialized workshops for restaurant owners and tourism workers to raise awareness of technical, health, and environmental requirements.
He emphasized Hodeidah's potential as a promising Red Sea tourism destination, calling for cooperation with field teams and compliance with tourism regulations.
The awareness phase will be followed by inspection campaigns to address violations and assess compliance, supporting tourism development, sustainable tourism, and environmental protection.
