Hodeidah: The Public Telecommunications Corporation in Al Hodeidah governorate today distributed sacrificial meat to 200 families of members of the Association for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Blind, at a cost of 2 million Yemeni riyals, as part of the social solidarity programs and initiatives implemented by the corporation on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Governor for Services Affairs, Mohammed Hulaissi, praised the efforts of the Telecommunications Corporation and its humanitarian initiative to support this societal group. He emphasized the importance of such projects in enhancing social solidarity and alleviating the suffering of the most needy families due to the current situation resulting from the repercussions of the aggression and blockade.
He noted that the exceptional circumstances the country is going through require expanding the scope of charitable and humanitarian initiatives to help ease the living burdens on poor families.
For his part, the Director General of the Corporation's branch in the governorate, Ali Makki, explained that the sacrificial meat project falls within the annual programs implemented by the corporation to support the blind and meet their basic needs. He affirmed that the corporation is keen to direct part of its community activities toward the most needy segments, thereby enhancing its humanitarian responsibility and its role in promoting the values of social solidarity during religious occasions.
Meanwhile, the Director General of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in the governorate, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sayegh, appreciated the efforts of the Telecommunications Corporation and its humanitarian and development initiatives targeting people with special needs, addressing their relief and social needs. He stressed the importance of uniting official and community efforts to support needy groups and enhance care, rehabilitation, and economic empowerment programs to improve their living conditions.
