Hodeidah: The University of Science and Technology, the Applied College, the Center for Consultation and Development, and the University Student Forum in Hodeidah Governorate organized on Saturday a cultural event to commemorate the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Governor for Services Affairs Mohammed Hulaishi emphasized that loyalty to the Prophet Muhammad is a crucial element for achieving Islamic unity and liberating humanity from forces of evil and corruption. He stated that those who oppose the commemoration of the Prophet's birthday are, in essence, opposing the Prophet himself, his community, and efforts aimed at uniting Muslims.
Hulaishi urged the Muslim community to reject defeatist approaches and actively engage in a comprehensive Islamic project that opposes colonial schemes and Israeli corruption, describing this engagement as a religious obligation.
University branch Director Dr. Mohammed Al-Limah highlighted the occasion as a spiritual opportunity to renew allegiance to the Prophet and to follow his righteous path. He called for Muslims to set aside secondary disputes, explaining that the commemoration represents gratitude to Allah and reflects the deep bond with the Prophet and his teachings.
In a speech delivered by scholars, Sheikh Ali Oudabi stressed that Muslims face a historic imperative to achieve unity and adhere to Islamic teachings in confronting the Saudi blockade of Yemen, ongoing for over 12 years. He commended the positions of Yemenis in support of the broader Muslim community, particularly regarding the Palestinian cause, describing these positions as a natural extension of the Prophet's approach of supporting justice and standing with the oppressed. Commemorating the Prophet's birthday, he noted, strengthens awareness of this responsibility and demonstrates Yemenis' commitment to Islamic values and enduring humanitarian principles.
