Hodeidah: The Developmental Youth Association in the northern districts of Hodeidah province organized today in Az Zaydiyah district the concluding honoring ceremony for the winners and participants in the first edition of the association's award for purposeful content.
According to Yemen News Agency, the competition, which ran from May 1 to 23, aimed to encourage youth and content creators to produce purposeful media and intellectual messages that serve community issues, as part of the association's vision to support creative initiatives and purposeful content that contribute to enhancing awareness, development, and community recovery.
At the ceremony, attended by the deputy governor Ghalib Hamzah and the governor's advisor Abdul Rahman Al Mansab, the head of the Developmental Youth Association, Fadel Al Dayyani, explained that the award came within the framework of supporting youth talents, encouraging constructive content and purposeful media messages, contributing to the development of community awareness and the enhancement of positive values.
He stated that the competition launched on May 1 with the participation of 80 content creators on the Facebook platform, and included three competitive stages focusing on content quality standards, presentation style, and the importance of the issues addressed by the entries.
Al Dayyani pointed out that the first stage allowed participants to publish open content subject to evaluation based on engagement level, video quality, and methods of delivering media messages, with 21 participants qualifying for the second stage.
He mentioned that the second stage involved preparing content addressing community issues and problems while providing proposed solutions and remedies. The entries focused on several issues, most notably illegal logging and its environmental impact, rumors and their danger to society, the problem of waste dumping, the damage of floods to roads and popular markets, as well as the impact of high temperatures on workers and street vendors.
The head of the association noted that the final stage saw 15 participants qualify, who were tasked with producing three types of content: highlighting authentic customs, traditions, and values; documenting endangered crafts and handmade products through interviews with specialists; in addition to presenting creative works reflecting participants' skills in various fields.
He considered the award a qualitative youth experience in the field of purposeful content creation, which contributed to directing attention towards community, developmental, and cultural issues related to citizens' lives and the local community reality.
For his part, the director of Az Zaydiyah district, Hassan Al Ahdal, praised the level of interaction the award received and what it represented as a motivating space for youth to showcase their creative abilities and direct their energies towards producing content that serves society and enhances awareness of public issues.
Meanwhile, the speech of the honorees, delivered by Ibrahim Jibal, expressed thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the association and supporting parties in adopting this distinguished competition that allowed content creators to showcase their skills and creative abilities, and opened wide horizons for constructive knowledge production.
The ceremony included honoring 15 participants with cash prizes and certificates of appreciation, covering awards for promotional tourism content, humanitarian content, educational content, social content, acting content, guidance content, artistic content, entertainment content, comedy content, and sports content, in addition to the "Ambassador of Tihami Content" award.
Seven participants were also honored with certificates in appreciation of their contributions and level of presence in the various stages of the competition.
