Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has predicted hot weather conditions across the deserts and coastal plains of Yemen, accompanied by scattered rain showers in several governorates over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin highlights that temperatures in the deserts and coastal plains are expected to soar between 36 and 40 degrees Celsius, while the western and southern coastal governorates may experience temperatures from 33 to 36 degrees Celsius.
The forecast suggests scattered rain may occur in the governorates of Dhamar, Ibb, Raymah, and the western parts of Sana'a, Amran, Al Mahwit, Hajjah, and Saada. Additionally, the northern regions of Taiz and parts of the Socotra Archipelago are also likely to experience rainfall.
The bulletin further indicates the potential for moderate to strong winds, reaching up to 28 knots, in the southern Red Sea, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden. These conditions could result in high waves and rough seas, posing risks to maritime activities.
Citizens residing in deserts, plains, and coastal areas have been advised to take precautions against the heat by avoiding direct sun exposure during peak hours and maintaining hydration. The center also cautioned against entering valleys and floodplains and warned of rough sea conditions along the western coasts, Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden.
