HR Commission Condemns Saudi Airstrikes in Taiz and Saada

Taiz:The National Human Rights Commission has condemned the recent airstrikes by the Saudi air force in Yemen, specifically highlighting a massacre in the Jabal Habashi District of Taiz Governorate.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Commission described the attacks as brutal genocidal crimes, adding to a history of violence against Yemen's civilians. The airstrikes targeted Al-Zahra Girls' School and a health center in the Al-Qahaf area during school hours, resulting in five deaths and fifteen injuries.

Furthermore, a drone strike targeted a home in the Al-Harmiyah area, injuring a woman and killing several livestock, which were her primary source of livelihood. The Commission accused the Saudi forces of implementing a policy of starvation and destruction of resources.

The Commission also reported continued airstrikes in the Baqim District of Sa'ada Governorate, causing property damage and terrorizing local residents. It emphasized the systematic targeting of schools, health centers, and civilian homes as a deliberate attempt to destroy Yemen's future.

The National Human Rights Commission holds the Saudi forces and their allies fully responsible for these attacks and criticizes international organizations like the United Nations, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization for their silence. The Commission called for immediate condemnation of the attacks on students and health facilities.
