Shabwa Governor Highlights Yemen’s Struggle for Freedom

Shabwa:Shabwa Governor Awad Al-Awlaqi emphasized that the October 14, 1963 Revolution against British occupation symbolized the Yemeni people's determination to achieve freedom, reject oppression, and remove occupiers from their homeland.

According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Awlaqi noted on the 63rd anniversary of the revolution that Yemeni freedom fighters were united in their quest to restore their country, freedom, and dignity. The revolution, which began in the mountains of Radfan, was supported by fighters nationwide and led to the departure of the last British soldier on November 30, 1967.

He stated that the descendants of these fighters, with the support of the Yemeni people, are now engaged in what he described as a sacred battle to reclaim their country's rights from the Saudi enemy, whom he accused of ongoing aggression and a blockade lasting over 12 years.

Al-Awlaqi expressed confidence that, just as history immortalized the October 14 Revolution and the expulsion of British forces, it would also record Yemenis' current struggle and victory over the Saudi enemy and its allies, ending the aggression and blockade, and liberating all Yemeni territory.

He added that nationwide celebrations of the revolution's anniversary reflect the pride Yemenis take in their ancestors' sacrifices and their determination to achieve freedom and independence by expelling occupiers and their proxies from southern Yemen.

The governor also mentioned that the September 21 Revolution enabled Yemen to defend its sovereignty and reclaim its people's rights. He concluded that signs of victory are becoming apparent, attributing this to divine support and the sacrifices of the Yemeni people, which would be recorded in history's brightest pages.
