Hodeidah:The National Human Rights Authority has condemned recent Saudi airstrikes that took place on Wednesday across several districts in Hodeidah Province.
According to Yemen News Agency, the authority denounced the escalation, reporting that Saudi warplanes conducted approximately 15 airstrikes targeting various districts, which they described as war crimes. The strikes reportedly aimed at telecommunications towers in Al-Marawiah and Al-Qate'a districts, intending to isolate residents and disrupt communications.
The statement further revealed that the Bajil Radio building, a civilian media facility, was among the targets, along with homes in the Al-Jah area. In the Zabid District, a child was killed and two others injured. Additionally, a woman, her son, and her daughter sustained serious injuries when a nearby house in the Al-Jah, Beit Al-Faqih District, was hit.
The authority emphasized that these attacks represent systematic violations of international law and conventions, highlighting that targeting telecommunications towers breaches Article 52 of Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions, which safeguards civilian objects from attack. The Saudi regime has been held fully criminally responsible for these incidents, and there is a call to the international community to end its silence over these ongoing violations.
