Human Rights Commission Condemns Attacks in Taiz’s Same’ District

Taiz:The National Human Rights Commission's branch in Taiz Governorate strongly condemned attacks by Saudi aircraft on civilians and civilian objects in Same' District.

According to Yemen News Agency, the commission reported that the Saudi aircraft targeted the home of Judge Ali Ghaleb Al-Samei in the village of "Al-Mal'abah" with two raids. This assault led to the death of Balqis Jamil Abdullah, the wife of the judge's son, the complete destruction of the home, severe damage to neighboring houses, the village mosque, and the death of several livestock.

Further attacks by the aircraft were reported, targeting the government complex in Same' District, causing significant material damage to the building and its facilities.

The commission's branch stated that these actions amount to war crimes and violate Article 27 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which offers protection to civilians and civilian objects. They described the destruction of homes as acts of systematic terrorism that threaten the right to life and safe housing.

The Saudi forces are held fully responsible for these actions, with calls made to the United Nations, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the International Committee of the Red Cross to address these crimes and hold the perpetrators accountable.
