Muscat: Local authorities in Ibb governorate launched on Saturday comprehensive cleanup campaigns across the governorate, including Ibb city, Ibb University campus, and various districts, ahead of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday celebrations.
According to Yemen News Agency, the campaigns aim to remove waste, improve the appearance of streets, neighborhoods, and public squares, and raise community awareness about cleanliness and environmental protection. Local officials stressed the importance of joint official and community efforts to maintain cleanliness and improve public spaces, emphasizing that sanitation should be a year-round responsibility rather than limited to special occasions.
Ibb University President Dr. Nasr Al-Hujaili highlighted cleanliness as a civilized practice encouraged by Islam and underscored the university's efforts to involve staff and students in community initiatives and volunteer work. The governorate's Cleaning and Improvement Fund noted that the campaigns would continue in the coming days and after the central celebration.
