Sana'a: Governor Abdulwahid Salah chaired a meeting on Monday in Ibb province to discuss coordination with the Central Organization for Control and Accounting (COCA), aiming to enhance transparency and safeguard public funds.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Local Council Amin al-Warafi, COCA deputies Mohammed al-Ansi and Najib Jarallah, and provincial deputies Abdulrahman al-Zakri and Harith al-Maliki. The attendees reviewed mechanisms to improve financial oversight and facilitate auditing tasks.
COCA officials provided a briefing on their upcoming work in Ibb's districts, including Yarim, Dhi al-Sufal, al-Udain, Jeblah, and surrounding rural areas as part of the first phase of their initiative.
Governor Salah highlighted the importance of evaluating the performance of local authorities and executive offices in accordance with COCA guidelines. He stressed the need to activate both concurrent and subsequent audits and to hold violators accountable to ensure sound financial and administrative procedures.
COCA deputies acknowledged the provincial leadership's cooperation, which they stated contributes to enhancing the efficiency and institutional performance of local governance.
