Ibb Officials Unveil Expanded ICU at Al-Thawra Hospital

Ibb: Ibb governor Abdulwahid Salah, deputy minister of health and environment Dr. Nasher Al-Qaoud, and finance ministry undersecretary Dr. Yahya Al-Saqqaf inaugurated an expanded Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Al-Thawra Teaching Hospital Authority, which now has a capacity of 15 beds.

According to Yemen News Agency, the officials, joined by the governorate's mobilization official Abdulfattah Ghallab, received a briefing from the hospital authority's chairman, Dr. Abdulghani Ghabsha, on the expanded ICU's facilities and equipment. The unit has been outfitted with modern technologies through self-financing of 50.4 million riyals, aiming to enhance healthcare services and upgrade the hospital's infrastructure.

During the inauguration, Governor Salah emphasized that the opening of the expanded ICU and the modernization of several hospital departments signify the leadership's focus on advancing the health sector in the governorate. He highlighted Al-Thawra Hospital as the main healthcare facility that manages the influx of patients from various districts and neighboring governorates.

Salah reiterated the local authority's commitment to prioritizing the health sector, coordinating with the Ministry of Health and relevant agencies to foster projects that address citizens' needs and alleviate their suffering. He acknowledged the hospital's leadership and staff for their dedication to improving services and maintaining workplace discipline, asserting the local authority's support for overcoming challenges in healthcare project implementation.

Deputy Minister Al-Qaoud remarked that the inauguration of new medical projects at Al-Thawra Hospital reflects significant strides in enhancing medical service efficiency. He underscored the importance of continued support to fortify the hospital's role, with the expanded ICU and modernized departments set to enable medical staff to manage critical cases more effectively.

Dr. Al-Qaoud also assured the ministry's ongoing support for development efforts in the governorate. Finance Ministry Undersecretary Al-Saqqaf emphasized that the hospital's continuous development and modernization would bolster its readiness, expand specialized services, and improve its response to patient cases from different districts.

Al-Saqqaf advocated for increased support for Al-Thawra Hospital Authority to ensure the stability and sustainability of new medical projects. Meanwhile, the governorate's mobilization official expressed that the ICU expansion and departmental modernization would meet growing patient needs, commending the hospital authority's modernization efforts.

Dr. Ghabsha outlined that the hospital authority remains focused on developing and expanding its departments, opening new centers, and enhancing staff efficiency under a strategic plan. Cooperation between the governorate and the Ministry of Health is pivotal to ensuring that completed projects become fully operational and achieve their objectives in patient care.
