Sanaa: The Agricultural Financing Unit in Ibb governorate convened a meeting on Tuesday under the leadership of Governor Abdulwahid Salah to evaluate the unit's plans and projects for the year 1447 AH. The assembly focused on assessing the execution of agricultural projects from previous years and outlined the executive plan for 1447 AH, which earmarks 758 million riyals for 28 agricultural, marketing, and development initiatives.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting participants also reviewed the implementation status of plans for 1444-1446 AH. This review included completed, ongoing, and stalled projects, as well as initiatives pending due to inadequate funding. Additionally, the meeting addressed outcomes from a recent joint session held in Sana'a with financing committees from Ibb, Taiz, and the Higher Agricultural and Fisheries Committee.
Further discussions concentrated on the status of loans to agricultural cooperatives, crop production strategies for beans and maize, and the construction of water barriers and reservoirs. Economic empowerment initiatives were also on the agenda. Governor Salah emphasized the importance of unifying efforts to advance the agricultural sector in accordance with national directives. He highlighted Ibb's robust agricultural potential and its ability to produce throughout the year.
Governor Salah urged for the acceleration of project implementation, the resolution of stalled initiatives, and the optimal use of the unit's resources to bolster food security and agricultural development.
