Ibb University Concludes Scientific Seminars for Medical Students on Metabolic Disorders

Sana'a: The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Ibb University concluded today the final sessions of the scientific seminars for the ninth batch of medicine and surgery students, which addressed metabolic disorders from various scientific and medical perspectives.

According to Yemen News Agency, the seminars aimed to enhance students' knowledge and research skills in the field of metabolic disorders by studying their causes, mechanisms of occurrence, associated risk factors, diagnostic methods, and the most prominent strategies for managing them according to scientific foundations and modern medical protocols.

During the concluding session, the University President, Dr. Nasser Al-Hajili, praised the scientific and research efforts made by the faculty's students and academic staff, emphasizing the importance of linking the educational process with scientific research and medical applications, and directing students' research outputs toward studying priority health issues and the actual needs of society.

He affirmed that such scientific activities represent an important space for developing students' skills in research, analysis, presentation, and discussion, equipping them with the ability to address specialized medical topics in a scientific manner, which contributes to preparing qualified medical personnel capable of keeping pace with rapid developments in medical and health sciences.

During the scientific presentations, delivered by the batch's students under the supervision of the Faculty Deputy Dean, Dr. Mohammed Mansour, the biochemical foundations related to the occurrence of metabolic disorders were reviewed, and risk factors, diagnostic methods, and treatment strategies were discussed according to the latest scientific standards and protocols, with active interaction and scientific interventions that enriched the discussion and expanded the benefits of the seminars.

The students presented the results of their readings and scientific research, discussing them before academics and peers, which enhanced their scientific communication skills, encouraged knowledge exchange, and linked theoretical concepts included in the medical chemistry course to related clinical applications.

At the conclusion of the seminars, the students and their supervisors were honored in recognition of their scientific and research efforts, in the presence of the University Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Abu Lahoum, the Assistant to the University Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Al-Ezzi Al-Aqab, and a number of academics and concerned individuals.
