Hodeidah: Ikhwan Thabit Group has delivered a batch of medicines and medical supplies to Al-Thawra General Hospital in Hodeidah yesterday. The shipment, valued at 20 million riyals, is designated for the burns center and intensive care unit.
According to Yemen News Agency, the assistance included specialized medicines and medical consumables for intensive care and burn treatment units. The supplies were handed over to the hospital's warehouses as part of efforts to support the health sector and strengthen its capacity to meet the growing needs of patients.
During the delivery, the Undersecretary of the Governorate for Services Affairs, Mohammed Halisi, praised the leading role of Ikhwan Thabit Group and its continued humanitarian and charitable initiatives in supporting the health sector, especially under the current conditions resulting from the ongoing aggression and blockade. He described the initiative as a reflection of social solidarity and genuine partnership between the private sector and state institutions to alleviate patients' suffering, calling on other businesses and entrepreneurs to follow the same approach in supporting medical facilities that serve millions of citizens.
For his part, the Director of Al-Thawra Hospital, Dr. Khaled Suhail, expressed appreciation for the generous gesture by Ikhwan Thabit Group in providing medicines and supplies, which arrived at a critical time to meet the needs of the intensive care unit and burn center, both of which are under significant pressure. He noted that the provision of specialized medicines will directly contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services and saving the lives of many underprivileged patients, praising the ongoing cooperation between the hospital and Ikhwan Thabit Group in various relief and medical fields.
Meanwhile, the Sales Director of Ikhwan Thabit Group, Abdullah Al-Hajri, stated that the delivery of medicines and medical supplies comes as part of the group's charitable programs and its commitment to social responsibility toward the people of Hodeidah, supporting the health sector in facing current challenges. He confirmed that the group, under its leadership's directives, is keen to continue providing targeted support to hospitals and vital medical centers to ensure the continuity of essential healthcare services and ease the burden on poor and displaced families.
The handover ceremony was attended by the Director of the Chamber of Commerce in the governorate, Mohammed Abdulwahid, the Deputy Head of the Hospital Authority, Dr. Abdo Obaid, and the Director of Medical Supply at the hospital, Dr. Adel Jabrani.
