Sana'a: A meeting held in the capital Sana'a on Sunday discussed the implementation mechanisms for the outcomes of the Muslim Women's Conference and ways to integrate and empower the poorest segments of society and provide them with comprehensive support. The meeting was organized by the National Women's Committee.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Dr. Ghada Abu Talib, head of the National Women's Committee, and attended by representatives from the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research and the National Union for the Development of the Poorest Groups ("Ahfad Bilal"). It addressed mechanisms for enhancing the integration of the "Ahfad Bilal" segment of society across various educational stages and pathways.
The meeting also reviewed ways to achieve economic empowerment for women in this group through technical and vocational education and training programs, and to intensify psychosocial support programs to reduce the phenomenon of begging and address its root causes.
The meeting emphasized the importance of raising awareness and educating the "Descendants of Bilal" group, stressing the need to encourage their sons and daughters to enroll in summer programs. This is crucial for their intellectual and cultural fortification against the schemes of enemies and their attempts to target the social fabric.
The head of the National Women's Committee indicated that the meeting is part of a strategic initiative to strengthen the effective partnership between the National Women's Committee, the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, and the National Union for the Development of the Poorest Groups, with the aim of improving the living and social conditions of women and vulnerable groups in Yemen.
