Sanaa: The Sawad Al-Tahrir Multipurpose Cooperative Association was officially inaugurated today in Al-Tahrir District, Capital Sanaa.
According to Yemen News Agency, the founding meeting was organized by the association's preparatory committee with support from the Capital Secretariat's Local Authority. This was represented by the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit and coordinated with Bonyan Development Foundation and the Secretariat's Office of Social Affairs and Labor. During the meeting, the association's bylaws were approved, and its administrative board and audit committee were elected.
District Director Naji Al-Shaya'ani and Mobilization Officer Eng. Abdul Latif Al-Wali emphasized the importance of establishing the association. They noted its key role in cooperative work, serving the community, and advancing development efforts within the district. They also highlighted the need to activate the role of development partners and youth leaders across neighborhoods and zones in coordination with local authorities to achieve the association's objectives. The support of the local authority, the financing unit, and Bonyan Foundation in facilitating the establishment of the cooperative was praised.
Meanwhile, the head of the preparatory committee, Mu'adh Al-Mahdi, and the Director of Cooperatives at the Office of Social Affairs, Daris Al-Khayati, reviewed the efforts made in drafting the bylaws and completing the formal procedures for the association's inauguration.
