Sanaa: The Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms convened a press conference today in Sanaa under the theme "Eight Years of Violations, Casualties, and Lack of Accountability: Monitoring the Situation, Victims, Displacement, Detention, and Restrictions on Services and Civilian Objects in Western Yemen." The organization presented a comprehensive report highlighting the ongoing violations faced by civilians in the West Coast regions.
According to Yemen News Agency, Ali Tayseer, Head of the National Commission for Human Rights, called for immediate action from the international community, urging entities such as the United Nations, the Security Council, the Human Rights Council, and international organizations to take a definitive stance on these documented crimes. The report details numerous violations, including killings, injuries, enforced disappearances, unlawful detention, torture, and forced displacement. Additionally, it notes the targeting of fishermen and civilians.
Tayseer emphasized the need for an independent and impartial international committee of experts to inspect crime scenes and investigate the incidents thoroughly. The call to action aims to address and mitigate the severe human rights issues highlighted in the report.
