Inspection Campaign Targets Pesticide Shops in Dhamar Governorate

Dhamar: The Agriculture Sector in Dhamar Governorate carried out a monitoring and inspection campaign targeting shops selling pesticides and agricultural fertilizers in the districts of Anss and Mayfa'at Anss. The campaign, conducted on Saturday, aims to protect crops, the agricultural environment, and public health from the risks associated with pesticides and fertilizers, while also regulating their circulation.

According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Adel Omar, the Agriculture Sector official in the Governorate, emphasized that the campaign is part of ongoing efforts to address these concerns. The campaign team issued new licenses to several pesticide shops and renewed existing ones, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Deputy Agriculture Sector official Engineer Hafez Al-Junaid reported that the field inspection led to the seizure and confiscation of expired pesticides, which have been referred to the competent authorities for further action.

Engineer Atiq Al-Abrat, Director of the Plant Protection Department, mentioned that the campaign targeted areas including Sanban, Al-Kawlah, Aqabat Zabl, Samah, Al-Lassi, and Al-Warqi. These inspections are part of regular and surprise campaigns conducted by the Agriculture Sector to maintain safety and compliance in the region.
