Hajjah: The Deputy Governor of Hajjah, Ahmed Al-Akhfash, together with the Director of the Endowments Office, Mohammed Aishan, and the Director of Bani Al-Awam District, Hassan Al-Ashwal, conducted an inspection of the Al-Hijrah Mosque in the Al-Sanawin area of the district.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Akhfash, Aishan, and Al-Ashwal were joined by the Director of the Endowments Branch in the district, Mohammed Qatran, to review the maintenance and restoration works being undertaken at the historic mosque. These efforts are funded by the General Authority of Endowments along with contributions from charitable donors.
The Deputy Governor and the District Director expressed satisfaction with the quality of the work, emphasizing that it adhered to approved specifications, studies, and standards while maintaining the mosque's historical essence. They acknowledged the contributions of the General Authority of Endowments and donors in the preservation of historical landmarks.
Aishan underscored the significance of preserving historic mosques and considering their archaeological attributes in maintenance activities. He remarked on the mosque's status as one of the oldest in the district and the governorate.
The delegation also visited the Al-Imam Al-Mahdi Mosque in the Radman area of the district, noted for its historical and educational importance in the region. During the visit, they were accompanied by the Education Sector official Sharaf Al-Houthi and received a briefing from Mohammed Qatran. He shared insights into the mosque's foundation and history, noting that it was constructed by Imam Al-Mahdi Ahmad bin Yahya Al-Murtada in the 8th century AH and functioned as a center for Islamic education.
