Inspection of Work Progress at Water Resources Authority in Sana’a Governorate

Sana'a: The Deputy Governor of Sana'a Governorate for the Services Sector, Fares Al-Kahali, and the Deputy Head of the General Authority for Water Resources and Facilities, Engineer Abdulkarim Al-Sufyani, today inspected the work progress at the branch of the Water Resources Authority in the governorate.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the visit, Al-Kahali and Al-Sufyani reviewed the performance level of the Authority's branch and the implementation progress of plans related to protecting the Sana'a water basin, regulating well drilling, controlling violations, and the efforts made to preserve the water stock and enhance its sustainability.

The Deputy Governor of Sana'a Governorate and the Deputy Head of the Water Resources Authority discussed with the Branch Director, Mustafa Al-Shahari, and employees, the most prominent challenges facing the water sector in light of increasing demand.

Al-Kahali and Al-Sufyani affirmed the importance of intensifying field monitoring work and activating the role of community awareness to preserve water and prevent random depletion.

They stressed the necessity of adhering to legal procedures regulating water uses, to contribute to protecting the groundwater stock for future generations.

For his part, the Branch Director affirmed the keenness to continue preventing random well drilling, preserving the groundwater stock, and enhancing awareness of the importance of preserving the water sources of the Sana'a basin.
