Sanaa: On this day, August 1, the persistent aggression by US-Saudi-Emirati forces has seen a series of airstrikes targeting vital infrastructure and civilian properties, resulting in numerous casualties, including women and children, across various Yemeni governorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, the aggression began notably on August 1, 2015, when a child was killed and two others injured by the explosion of remnant ordnance in Al Ammar area of Al-Safra District, Saada Governorate. The aggression aircraft targeted refrigeration warehouses at the Central Market in Ma'bar, Dhamar Governorate, alongside six airstrikes on Old Marib.
By August 1, 2016, the aggression intensified with three airstrikes on Al-Baha Market in Baqim District, Saada Governorate, and further attacks on Mafraq Baqim Market, causing extensive damage. Other regions like the Al-Qata'ah and Al-Buqa' areas faced multiple airstrikes, and Saudi missile bombardment targeted Al-Hafouz area in Haidan District.
The following year saw citizen Saleh Al-Hayek and his daughter martyred, with his son injured due to artillery shelling in Al-Matoon District, Al-Jawf Governorate. Meanwhile, airstrikes persisted in areas like Sirwah District in Marib Governorate and Haradh and Midi districts in Hajjah Governorate.
In 2018, the aggression claimed more lives, including a woman and her child in Saqayn District, Saada Governorate. The relentless airstrikes also led to the destruction of a mosque in Al-Durayhimi District and targeted residential and agricultural areas in border districts.
The aggression continued on August 1, 2019, with mercenary gunfire killing a child in Al-Tuhayta District, Al-Hodeida Governorate. The subsequent year, 2020, recorded airstrikes in Kataf District, Saada Governorate, and heavy shelling targeting populated villages in Munabbih.
In 2021, the aggression aircraft and mercenaries expanded their operations, establishing new military fortifications and launching artillery attacks across several districts, including Rahbah, Sirwah, and Raghwan in Marib Governorate.
The year 2022 saw reconnaissance aircraft engaging in airstrikes across Al-Dhalea and Taiz Governorates, with extensive artillery shelling targeting multiple regions, including Marib, Hajjah, and Saada.
Most recently, on August 1, 2023, reports indicate four citizens injured by Saudi army fire in Shada, Saada Governorate, and a child injured by unexploded ordnance in Al-Durayhimi District. The aggression aircraft continued airstrikes on Hays District, with mercenaries reinforcing their positions and shelling various areas.
