Al-mahweet: The Central Emergency Development Intervention Unit at the Ministry of Local and Rural Development, in collaboration with the local authority, the General Mobilization Unit in al-Mahweet governorate, and cooperative societies, has initiated the distribution of cement and diesel. This initiative is designed to bolster community projects within the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the program aims to distribute 15,000 bags of cement and 29,188 liters of diesel to support community initiatives in the road sector across various districts, including Shibam Kawkaban, Ar Rujm, At Tawilah, Bani Saad, Al Khabt, Hafash, Milhan, Al Madina, and Jabal Al Mahwit. The launch, coordinated with multi-purpose cooperative societies, the branch of the Agricultural Cooperative Union, and the Bonyan Foundation, saw Deputy Governors Abdul Salam Al-Dhamari and Hussein Arkad underscore the government's commitment to enhancing community initiatives and fostering partnerships with the community to implement service and development projects. This initiative aims to improve infrastructure and enhance service levels for citizens.
They emphasized that supporting community initiatives is vital in driving local development and encouraging active community involvement in road projects and improving services in education, health, water, and other essential sectors. This approach aims to alleviate citizens' hardships and fulfill their basic needs.
Engineer Mukhtar Al-Turki, Director of the Central Interventions Unit in the governorate, highlighted that this support aligns with the directives of the Leader of the Revolution and the President of the Supreme Political Council. These directives focus on enhancing community initiatives and their role in achieving sustainable development, particularly in underserved areas.
The Ministry of Local and Rural Development and its Intervention Unit reiterated their commitment to the prompt execution of initiatives and their real-time monitoring to ensure adherence to established plans. Priority will be given to projects related to roads, water, and agriculture, aiming to deliver a direct developmental impact on the populace.
Al-Turki encouraged beneficiaries to expedite project execution to complete the support program phases. He praised the community's engagement and contributions in al-Mahweet governorate to service and development initiatives, showcasing a spirit of cooperation and solidarity.
