According to Yemen News Agency, the Nikkei 225 index rose 0.9% on Friday to 50,610.04 points, heading for a 0.2% weekly gain. The broader Topix index climbed 1.6% after reaching a record high of 3,420.57 during the day. The S and P 500 and Dow Jones indexes closed at record highs in New York overnight following the Federal Reserve's monetary policy update, which was less dovish.
