Tokyo: The optimism stemming from Wall Street's gains propelled Japan's Nikkei index higher, putting it on track for its third consecutive weekly gain. According to Yemen News Agency, the Nikkei 225 index rose 0.9% on Friday to 50,610.04 points, heading for a 0.2% weekly gain. The broader Topix index climbed 1.6% after reaching a record high of 3,420.57 during the day. The S and P 500 and Dow Jones indexes closed at record highs in New York overnight following the Federal Reserve's monetary policy update, which was less dovish.
