Dhamar: A joint committee from the Presidency and Public Prosecution in Dhamar Governorate conducted a field visit on Thursday to the Central Correctional Facility and several detention centers.

According to Yemen News Agency, the visit included Chief Prosecutor of the Governorate's Court of Appeal Judge Anan Shaye and Head of the Grievances Redress Authority branch Hassan Aqabat. The committee listened to inmates and reviewed cases eligible for amnesty. They directed the release of a number of inmates in accordance with legal requirements and directives issued on the occasion of the Prophet Mohammed's birthday.

Judge Shaye stated that the measures were executed in line with directives from the revolutionary and political leadership and the Attorney General. These included the release of inmates involved in non-serious cases and cases concerning public rights, as allowed under the law and judicial instructions. The committee also reviewed situations of debtors and cases requiring intervention and resolution.

Aqabat affirmed that field visits would continue to facilitate the release of those who meet the conditions for amnesty for the remainder of their sentences and under guarantees. This reflects the values of mercy associated with the Prophet Mohammed's birthday. He urged businessmen and philanthropists to aid indigent prisoners by settling their private financial obligations, thereby helping secure their release and reintegration into society.
