Sanaa: The Supreme Judicial Council held its weekly meeting today, chaired by Judge Dr. Abdul-Momen Shujauddin, focusing on several key issues, including the Memorandum of the Head of the Judicial Inspection Authority regarding judges on duty during the Judicial leave for Ramadan, specifically for urgent matters as outlined by the Code of Civil Procedure.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Council underscored the importance of judges adhering to their assigned working hours and strictly following the provisions of urgent judiciary. The Council cautioned against compromising the essence of the judiciary or entertaining malicious requests that could deviate proceedings from their intended objectives. The Judicial Inspection Authority was tasked with the responsibility of overseeing and ensuring compliance with working hours and legal provisions.
Additionally, the Council addressed grievances submitted by some judges and members of the Public Prosecution. Appropriate decisions were made regarding these grievances, and the memorandum from the Head of the Efficiency Reports Study Committee was reviewed, subsequently being forwarded to the General Secretariat and the Judicial Inspection Authority for further examination and recommendation development.
The meeting also included a review of the Draft Judicial Guardianship Regulation. However, the Council decided to defer further consideration of this draft to allow for additional comments and proposals. The Council concluded its session by discussing the items on its agenda and approving the minutes of its previous meeting.
