Dhamar: The Governor of Dhamar, Mohammed Al-Bukhaity, inaugurated today a training program for outstanding high school graduates in the fields of computer driving (ICDL), the use of artificial intelligence tools, and programming from beginner to professional level.
According to Yemen News Agency, the program is implemented by the Technical Education Development and Scientific Research Center at the Al-Bardouni Public Library, over a period of six months. It aims to build the capacities of outstanding high school graduates in the fields of the International Computer Driving License (ICDL), AI application skills, and Python programming, from beginner to advanced levels.
The program is part of the Education Development Project in Yemen, within the framework of efforts to localize technology and artificial intelligence, and as an initiative by the local authority in the governorate to reform education and enhance national capabilities to keep pace with rapid developments in modern technologies.
During the inauguration, Governor Al-Bukhaity explained that the program targets, in its first phase, students who scored 98% or higher in the general secondary examination, before expanding to include those with 85% or higher. He emphasized that all these courses are provided free of charge.
He pointed out that the goal of these programs is to build students' capacities in technical fields, prepare them for university studies, and open new opportunities for them in the job market, especially amid the rapid expansion in the fields of artificial intelligence, programming, and digital technologies.
He mentioned that the governorate launched a similar training course last week for computer science graduates in the field of artificial intelligence, and noted that another training track is being prepared for launch soon, targeting school students from the seventh grade to the third year of secondary school, with the aim of discovering and developing technical talents and abilities at an early age.
Al-Bukhaity called on students wishing to enroll in these programs to register quickly, whether they are outstanding school students or high school graduates with 85% or higher.
He stated that the local authority in the governorate has worked to provide the necessary capabilities and equipment to implement these courses, in line with advanced levels of technical training.
