Hajjah: The branch of the General Authority of Zakat in Hajjah Province launched on Tuesday an awareness campaign highlighting the importance of Zakat. During the launch event held at the provincial center, the Director of the Authority’s office in the province, Fayez Al-Malahi, stressed the significance of the campaign in enhancing awareness among those obligated to pay Zakat about the duty of fulfilling this religious obligation.
According to Yemen News Agency, the campaign includes distributing awareness posters in markets and commercial shops to emphasize the importance of paying Zakat as a means of achieving growth, blessings, and the purification of wealth. Al-Malahi called on major traders and community members to take the initiative in paying Zakat to ensure it is distributed among its eight designated categories and to help alleviate the suffering of the poor and needy.
He pointed out that the campaign, which will continue until the 10th of Ramadan, includes the implementation of various awareness programs. The Zakat office Director also underscored the importance of strengthening partnership between the Authority and Zakat payers, and raising awareness about the rulings and obligation of Zakat as one of the pillars of Islam.
