Dhamar: Dhamar governor Mohammed al-Bukhaiti on Tuesday inaugurated a free surgical camp for cleft lip, cleft palate, congenital hip dislocation, and clubfoot cases, organized by Al-Riyada International Hospital on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
According to Yemen News Agency, the camp is supervised by Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Ahmed al-Khattri and Consultant Orthopedic and Joint Surgeon Dr. Mohammed Al-Khawlani, with the participation of a specialized medical team.
During the launch, Governor Al-Bukhaiti praised the hospital’s charitable and medical initiatives, stressing that such efforts embody social solidarity and highlight the humanitarian role of health institutions, particularly under current circumstances.
He called on other private hospitals and medical centers to follow similar initiatives that help ease patients’ suffering and bring hope to their families.
For their part, Chairman of the Hospital Board Dr. Abdo al-Hasmani and his deputy Dr. Abdulkarim al-Yaari expressed appreciation for the local leadership’s support for the health sector, noting that the camp reflects the hospital’s social responsibility and commitment to providing free specialized medical services to underprivileged groups, especially children suffering from congenital deformities.
