Launch of Awareness Campaign on Zakat al-Fitr in Al-Mina and Al-Hawk Districts

Al-hodeidah: The Zakat offices in Al-Mina and Al-Hawk districts of Al-Hodeidah governorate have launched an awareness campaign on Zakat al-Fitr for the year 1447 AH, in collaboration with the offices of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance in these districts.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the launch, Mohammed Hazza, Director of the Zakat Authority Office in the governorate, emphasized the necessity of paying Zakat al-Fitr and delivering it to the guardian authority represented by the General Authority for Zakat and its branches in the districts to ensure it reaches the entitled poor and needy.

Hazza urged scholars, preachers, and religious guides to take an active role in raising community awareness about the obligation of Zakat al-Fitr, highlighting its purpose to bring joy to the poor and needy on Eid al-Fitr and alleviate their hardships. He also discussed several projects implemented by the General Authority for Zakat over the past year and outlined the mechanism for collecting Zakat al-Fitr this year.

Bassam Al-Laei, Director of the Awareness and Rehabilitation Department at the governorate's Zakat Authority office, along with guidance officials Abdullah Al-Nimr from Al-Mina district and Abu Ahmed Al-Hajjaji from Al-Hawk district, presented religious evidence supporting the importance of paying Zakat al-Fitr. They emphasized the need to deliver it to the Zakat Authority, the competent body responsible for its collection and distribution to the needy for their benefit on Eid al-Fitr.
