Ibb: Governor of Ibb Abdulwahab Salah today launched an economic empowerment project for 100 families in the Al-Mazarika sub-district of Hazm Al-Adain District. The project, implemented by the General Authority for Small and Micro Enterprise Development and funded by the General Zakat Authority, coincides with the commemoration of the Prophet's Birthday (Mawlid al-Nabi).
According to Yemen News Agency, the initiative provides 15 head of sheep as interest-free loans (white loans) to impoverished families, enabling them to establish a sustainable income source and become productive households.
The launch was attended by Ahmed Al-Kabsi, Head of the General Authority for Small and Micro Enterprise Development; Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Khaled, Assistant Commander of the Fourth Military Region; and Jamal Al-Humairi, Deputy Governor of Ibb.
Governor Salah described the project as a critical step in economic empowerment for poor families, emphasizing that such interest-free loans create sustainable income opportunities and alleviate suffering.
He noted that the initiative aligns with the principles of social solidarity advocated by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and reflects the broader focus on small and micro enterprise development programs.
The governor highlighted that providing livestock to targeted families will improve living standards and promote self-reliance, urging the expansion of such projects to achieve sustainable local development across the province's districts.
