Al-qanawis: Today, the "Greatest Messenger" football tournament for the year 1448 AH kicked off in Al-Qanawis District, Al-Hudaydah Governorate, organized by the Youth and Sports Office in the district, as part of sports activities marking the anniversary of the noble Prophet's birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, the tournament opened under the supervision of the Governorate Youth and Sports Office, with five teams from various areas of the district participating. In the opening match, Nujoum Bani Mahdi defeated Namour Al-Qawzi 1-0 in a competitive and exciting game that drew a large crowd.
The tournament, held on the Rajaa Al-Halili field, follows a round-robin system, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals. The participating teams are: Nujoum Bani Mahdi, Namour Al-Qawzi, Suqour Al-Mahadilah, Mawahib Kashar, and Ittihad Al-Maqa'isha.
The tournament organizers explained that this sports activity is part of the youth and sports programs accompanying the celebration of the Prophet's birthday, aimed at developing youth skills, fostering a spirit of fair competition, and strengthening values of brotherhood and cooperation among participants.
