Sana'a: The Secretary-General of the Local Council of Sana'a Governorate, Abdul Qader Al-Jilani, launched today in the New Sana'a District a project to distribute school bags to the children of martyrs and missing persons at all levels of public education in the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the launch of the project, which is being implemented by the General Authority for the Care of Families of Martyrs and Missing Persons in the governorate under the slogan "With Knowledge and Learning... We Preserve the Legacy of Our Martyrs," and in the presence of the Deputy Governor, Abdul Malik Al-Gharbi, Al-Jilani pointed to the importance of the school bag project, which contributes to alleviating the financial burdens on the families of martyrs and missing persons.
He emphasized the governorate leadership's commitment to continuing to provide support and care for the families of martyrs and missing persons in various educational, health, social, and humanitarian fields, and to giving them priority in free educational placements, in recognition of the martyrs' sacrifices in confronting the forces of aggression. The head of the education sector in the governorate, Talib Dahhan, praised the role of the Martyrs' and Missing Persons' Families Care Authority in supporting the sons and daughters of martyrs by providing them with school bags and supplies. He emphasized the importance of integrated efforts to care for the families of martyrs in all aspects, as the least that can be done.
For his part, the director of the General Authority for the Care of Martyrs' Families branch, Humair Hamza, explained that the project targets 6,500 male and female students across all districts, as part of the support projects for the children of martyrs implemented by the Authority.
He commended the local authority leadership in the governorate for their support of the project and their commitment to alleviating the educational burdens on the families of martyrs and missing persons.
The inauguration was attended by the director of the New Sana'a District, Abdullah Al-Marouni, the deputy director of the Authority in the governorate, Khalid Heba, the head of the education sector in the district, Amin Majal, and a number of school principals and educators.
