Hajjah: The second Imam Al-Mutahhar Five-a-Side Football Tournament kicked off on Wednesday in the center of Hajjah Governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the tournament is organized by the youth of Qadam District under the supervision of the governorate's educational sector and the Modern Specialized University. It features 10 teams, which are equally divided between the 'Baraem' (youth development) and 'Youth' categories.
The opening match in the Youth category ended in a 3-3 draw between Bab Al-Anab and Al-Hail teams, while in the Baraem category, Al-Alami defeated Al-Hilal 2-0.
Murad Shalhi, Director of the Governorate's Youth and Sports Office, and Ahmed Al-Jabr, Deputy of the Educational Sector, emphasized the importance of this tournament, which bears the name of the eminent scholar Imam Al-Mutahhar bin Yahya Al-Murtada, known as 'Al-Muzallal bil-Ghumama,' in developing young athletes' skills and fostering a spirit of competition among them.
