Al-mashnah: Specialized summer activities were launched today in Al-Mashnah District of Ibb Governorate at Al-Sammad Industrial Technical Institute, as part of the summer programs scheduled for a number of schools, including Imam Ali bin Abi Talib Center for female students, and Rajih Labouza and May 22 schools for male students, under the slogan "My Craft is My Future."
According to Yemen News Agency, the launch event was attended by key officials including the Governorate's Mobilization Officer Abdulfattah Ghallab, Deputy Governor Harith Al-Maliki, Head of the Education Sector Mohammed Al-Ghazali, and Head of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Sector Dr. Badr Al-Farrah. They inspected the professional and applied programs offered by the institute, covering areas such as computers, sewing, electrical wiring, and light vehicle mechanics, alongside a variety of craft skills.
The officials emphasized the importance of these activities in building students' capacities by providing practical and professional skills, fostering self-reliance, and linking educational aspects with application. This approach is expected to positively impact students' academic and professional futures, preparing them to contribute to societal development.
Abdulfattah Ghallab highlighted that this year's summer activities represent a significant advancement in educational programs, incorporating diverse educational, cultural, and professional tracks. He stressed the importance of utilizing these programs to prepare a knowledgeable and skilled generation equipped with essential life skills.
Mohammed Al-Ghazali discussed the role of summer activities in shielding students from negative influences while promoting positive values and behaviors through integrated programs that combine awareness, culture, and skill development. He explained that these programs aim to create well-rounded students capable of positive interaction with their environment and adapting to contemporary demands.
Dr. Badr Al-Farrah noted that integrating students into vocational training programs during the summer opens opportunities for them to explore their interests and develop practical skills early on. He emphasized that these programs align educational outcomes with labor market needs, fostering a culture of work and production among students.
Emad Ghamdhan, Dean of Al-Sammad Industrial Technical Institute, stated that the institute has prepared various training programs for summer center students in specializations like car electricity, mechanics, lathe work, sewing, computers, and home industries. These programs are set to continue throughout the summer, providing students with hands-on training in workshops and laboratories.
The launch event also saw the participation of Essam Al-Barah, Head of the Education Sector in Al-Mashnah District. In a separate activity, officials, including the Head of the Education Sector in the governorate and other district representatives, inspected progress in summer courses and secondary certificate exams at May 22 School in Al-Dhahar.
