Sana'a: The Faculty of Medicine at Sana'a University today launched its sports championships in football, volleyball, table tennis, and chess, organized by the General Department of Student Activities and Youth Welfare at the university.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shahari, highlighted the importance of student activities and sports competitions in their various forms. He emphasized their vital role in enhancing physical and intellectual skills, boosting students' morale, and contributing to the discovery, development, and nurturing of talents.
The Assistant Director General of Student Activities and Youth Welfare at the university, Mohammed Al-Radaei, stated that the four tournaments will be held from September 9 to 14. Ten teams will compete in the football championship and five teams in volleyball, both played under a knockout system. Participation in the chess and table tennis tournaments will remain open.
The Faculty of Medicine tournaments are part of a series of competitions to be held first at the faculty level and later at the central university level. This initiative aligns with the university's plan to expand, promote, and activate youth and sports activities.
