Launch of Zakat al-Fitr and Cash Assistance Projects in Hodeidah at 800 Million Riyals

Hodeidah: The First Deputy Governor of Hodeidah, Ahmed Al-Bishri, together with Deputy Governors Mohammed Haleesi and Ali Al-Kabari, has initiated the Zakat al-Fitr and Ramadan cash assistance initiatives. These projects are being implemented by the General Zakat Authority at a total cost of 800 million riyals.

According to Yemen News Agency, the initiatives, part of the "Ramadan Charity" projects for the year 1447 AH, aim to distribute Zakat al-Fitr to 6,328 families, amounting to 126,560,000 riyals. Additionally, cash assistance will be provided to 33,672 families, totaling 673,440,000 riyals. Deputy Al-Bishri emphasized that these projects align with revolutionary and political directives to bolster social solidarity and support the most vulnerable groups during Ramadan.

Deputy Al-Bishri highlighted the role of the Zakat Authority as a key player in enhancing social solidarity and ensuring rightful beneficiaries receive assistance through legitimate channels. He remarked that this aid serves as a critical support for thousands of needy families in the governorate during Ramadan.

The First Deputy Governor also noted the transformation of zakat obligations, resulting in projects that meet citizens' needs and alleviate their suffering. He encouraged affluent individuals to contribute their zakat to the Authority to ensure it reaches those in need.

Deputy Haleesi underscored the significance of these projects in fostering charity and compassion within the community. He stated that timely distribution of cash assistance and Zakat al-Fitr brings joy to low-income families ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

Mohammed Haza'a, Director of the Zakat Authority office in Hodeidah, explained that the projects target thousands of poor families across the governorate, aiming to enhance social solidarity and fulfill zakat's legitimate purposes. He assured that assistance would be disbursed via post offices for transparency and ease of access.

Hussein Habib, Director of the Post Authority branch, committed to utilizing all available resources to facilitate the disbursement process, ensuring it is conducted smoothly and securely.
