Al-hodeidah: A tribal reconciliation in Ibb Governorate today concluded a longstanding murder case involving the victim Abdulrahman Qayed Al-Shibli, originally from Jiblah District, which took place eight years ago.
According to Yemen News Agency, the reconciliation was overseen by Member of Parliament Dr. Ali Al-Zanam and included participation from the Governor's Deputies Rakan Al-Naqeeb, Mohammed Al-Shabibi, and Mohammed Al-Murayasi. Also present were the Director of the Expatriate Affairs Sector, Bakeel Shamakh, and the Directors of Jiblah District, Sultan Shaji', Ash-Sha'ar District, Ashraf Al-Salahi, and As-Sabrah District, Hameed Al-Mutawakkil. In a gesture of forgiveness, the victim's family, Al-Shibli, extended their pardon to the perpetrator, Wasel Ali Al-Shabibi, a resident of Baddan District, motivated by religious duty, respect for the attendees, and a call from the revolutionary leadership to resolve community disputes.
Dr. Al-Zanam and Deputy Al-Naqeeb emphasized that the tribal reconciliation showcases the foundational values of Yemeni society centered on tolerance and reconciliation. They highlighted the tribes' responsibility in resolving differences, prioritizing community welfare, and strengthening social cohesion. They noted that resolving vendettas and disputes contributes to social peace, underscoring the need for collective community and official efforts to maintain security, stability, and public tranquility.
The Director of the Expatriate Affairs Sector and mediation committee members, Sheikh Abdul Salam Rajeh and Sheikh Salah Al-Salahi, remarked that concluding the case after years of conflict demonstrates the community's awareness and dedication to closing vendetta files. They expressed gratitude to all who played a role in bridging differences, achieving this noteworthy reconciliation, and stated that the tribal reconciliation serves as a model of tolerance and unity, reinforcing forgiveness and harmony within the community.
