Taiz: The acting governor of Taiz, Ahmed Al-Masawi, inaugurated the distribution of 30 maize cultivators and locally manufactured feed mills to cooperative societies, at a cost of 13 million riyals funded by the local authority in the province through the Agricultural and Fisheries Initiatives Financing Unit.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the inauguration, the presence of the Assistant Commander of the Fourth Military Region, Saleh Hajib, and the General Mobilization Officer in the province, Mohammed Al-Khalidi, underscored the importance of manufacturing agricultural machinery and equipment to reduce the import bill for equipment. This initiative aims to provide the needs and requirements of farmers at a lower cost and with high quality.
The Undersecretary of Taiz province for Development Affairs, Abdulwase Al-Shamsi, highlighted that the launch of the first phase of manufacturing agricultural machinery and equipment for agricultural cooperative societies is in line with the directives of the Revolution Leader and the President of the Supreme Political Council. This move is intended to promote local production of agricultural machinery and equipment.
Further, the agricultural sector official, Engineer Abdullah Al-Jundi, and the head of the Agricultural and Fisheries Initiatives Financing Unit, Mohammed Heba, emphasized the focus on local production inputs. They noted that the harvesters manufactured by Bunyan Development Foundation have demonstrated their efficiency in the field.
