Launching Free Medical Camp for Gynecology & Obstetrics at Al-Thawra Hospital in Ibb

Sana'a: Governor of Ibb, Abdulwahid Salah, inaugurated on Tuesday a free medical camp for gynecology and obstetrics, organized by the General Al-Thawra Hospital Authority in the governorate, in coordination with the Medical Camps Department at the Ministry of Public Health.

According to Yemen News Agency, the camp will continue for one week, providing a package of free medical services in gynecology and obstetrics, including medical examinations, laboratory tests, ultrasound scans, cesarean sections, antenatal care, normal deliveries, family planning services, and the distribution of essential medicines to beneficiaries.

During the inauguration, Governor Salah stressed the importance of organizing free medical camps that target the most vulnerable groups, particularly in areas related to maternal and child health, highlighting their humanitarian and social role in alleviating the living and health burdens on citizens. He noted that the local authority gives special attention to the health sector and seeks to support humanitarian and medical initiatives that help expand free treatment services and enhance the level of healthcare provided to citizens, emphasizing the importance of joint official and community efforts to support such programs.

Governor Salah explained that the organization of this camp reflects a spirit of humanitarian responsibility and social solidarity, and demonstrates the commitment of health authorities to reaching the most needy groups, especially under difficult economic conditions that require intensified efforts to provide basic services to citizens. He praised the efforts of Al-Thawra Hospital Authority, the Medical Camps Department, and the participating medical and technical staff, commending the level of organization and services provided. He also expressed hope for expanding such free medical camps across various specialties to serve low-income and vulnerable groups.

For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Health and Environment for Planning, Dr. Abdulmalik Al-Sanani, stated that the camp is part of the humanitarian and health programs implemented by the ministry to improve medical services provided to citizens, particularly in maternal and neonatal care. He pointed out that launching the camp ahead of Eid al-Adha reflects the values of mercy, solidarity, and benevolence, and strengthens community cooperation in supporting patients and those in need, praising the high-quality free services provided to beneficiaries.

Dr. Al-Sanani urged hospitals and health institutions to implement more medical and humanitarian initiatives that address citizens' needs and help alleviate their suffering. Meanwhile, the Director-General of Al-Thawra General Hospital in the governorate, Dr. Abdulghani Ghabsha, confirmed that the camp comes in response to the growing health needs of poor and vulnerable cases, aiming to provide free treatment services that improve their health and humanitarian conditions. He explained that the camp has witnessed a wide turnout since its first day, reflecting the urgent need for such free medical initiatives, especially under the current circumstances. He also praised the efforts of the medical, technical, and administrative teams that contributed to the preparation, implementation, and success of the camp.
