Accra:Sanaa The Local Authority in Sanaa Governorate has strongly condemned an attack by Saudi enemy aircraft targeting the workers' housing of a cement factory in Hamdan District. The assault resulted in a tragic loss of life and injuries among civilians.
According to Yemen News Agency, the attack led to the martyrdom of eight citizens, including one man and seven women and children, and caused injuries to 15 others, comprising four men and 11 women and children. The Local Authority denounced this massacre, emphasizing that the deliberate destruction of citizens' homes reflects a criminal act devoid of religious, moral, and humanitarian values, highlighting a failure in the targeting of the Yemeni people.
The Local Authority described the attack as a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian laws, framing it as part of ongoing crimes and a siege against Yemen extending over 12 years. The statement asserted that such crimes invalidate any false claims and justifications, placing the perpetrators among war criminals. It also warned that the Yemeni Armed Forces would respond to the attack.
The statement further underlined that such continued crimes against civilians would not deter the people of Sanaa Governorate from their resolve but would instead bolster their determination to confront aggression and defend their land. The Local Authority held the Saudi enemy fully responsible for the crime and its repercussions, criticizing the silence of international and UN bodies, which it claims have emboldened further targeting of civilians.
The authority called on the people of Yemen and global human rights organizations to condemn the attack, expose the perpetrators, document their crimes, and take decisive actions to protect civilians and end such assaults.
