Dhamar:The local authority in Dhamar Governorate has condemned the airstrikes carried out by the Saudi-led coalition against the villages of Al-Ar and Barza’a in the Dawran Anis District. These attacks, which occurred yesterday, targeted civilian homes and farms using internationally banned cluster bombs.
According to Yemen News Agency, the local authority’s statement reported that the airstrikes resulted in the death of three children and injured 17 others, including seven children and three women. One woman reportedly suffered a miscarriage. Additionally, significant damage was inflicted on local resources, with dozens of sheep killed and solar energy systems destroyed.
The statement described these actions as part of a recent escalation by the Saudi-led coalition, marking a continuation of a 12-year campaign against the Yemeni people. It criticized the coalition’s disregard for civilian lives and accused them of exploiting international silence. The local authority called the airstrikes a violation of religious and moral values, international law, and humanitarian charters, and labeled them as war crimes.
The statement further criticized the Saudi regime, claiming that it cannot hide its actions from international scrutiny or the Yemeni people. The local authority urged the United Nations and international organizations to condemn these attacks and to pressure the coalition to cease its aggression and lift the blockade.
The statement concluded by affirming the Yemeni people’s determination to defend their rights and resilience against the ongoing aggression. It warned that further escalation would be met with a corresponding response until the blockade is lifted and justice is achieved.
