Bajil: The Local Council in Bajil district of Hodeida province, in cooperation with the Bajil Multi-Purpose Agricultural Cooperative Association, has initiated the operation of locally manufactured seeders to bolster agricultural expansion and promote cost-effective national technologies.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the launch event, District Director Abdulmunem Al-Rifai highlighted the local production of the seeder as a noteworthy accomplishment that demonstrates the community's innovative capabilities in developing tools tailored to farmers' needs and enhancing agricultural processes. He emphasized the district leadership's dedication to supporting initiatives that foster sustainable agricultural development.
Agricultural Extension Coordinator Adnan Al-Qudaimi remarked that the project addresses the farmers' demand for practical and affordable equipment, pointing out that the locally manufactured seeder provides precise seed distribution at a lower cost compared to imported machinery.
Hussein Al-Dhiyabi, the Secretary-General of the association, expressed that efforts will be concentrated on broadening the adoption of this technology through programs that support the agricultural value chain, aiming to enhance the economic returns for farmers.
Officials also underscored the necessity of coordination between authorities and community entities to ensure the successful expansion of crops, such as soybean cultivation, and to increase productivity towards achieving greater self-sufficiency in vegetable oils and plant-based proteins.
